Yippee! That X11 "feature" drives me nuts!
Are you using a clipboard application like clipit or xcfe4-clipman? If
so, you usually can adjust that behaviour there.

Hi Lars,
The ones I have used always cause some other problem
somewhere else, like killing my ability to paste
images into Thunderbird, yada, yada, yada. I have
always had top pull them back out.
