What does your grub2 config file look like, and which partition is it in?

If you are booting SL out of the ubuntu grub2.conf maybe that is how it got
change.d

Subject: Spontaneously Kernel Updating

Hi,

I am new user on Scientific Linux.

Scientific Linux, Ubuntu and Windows8 situated on machine. I updated Ubuntu
(and also grub2 updated automatically) SL had Kernel release 2.6.32-72. I
switched to Scientific Linux and it's kernel release has been 2.6.32-696. I
didn't update SL.

However, this changing solved my problems (screen resolution, sound device and
wireless), I couldn't understand but i am happy. How can this changing? Is it
possible?
