It's been a few days for Larry Linder, the original poster. Is it working now? The "cifs-utils" package, which is what you need to be able to mount CIFS network file systems, has dependencies on samba libraries and packages. You can use "samba4" packages, which is probably a helpful upgrade, but it can be tricky to get to there gracefully. We can walk you through that upgrade path, if you'd like help.
