It looks like the SL 7 samba security updates break IPA when applied onto an IPA server:
Apr 21 14:00:32 systemd[1]: Starting Samba SMB Daemon... Apr 21 14:00:33 smbd[2121]: [2020/04/21 14:00:33.520169, 0] ../../source3/passdb/pdb_interface.c:171(make_pdb_method_name) Apr 21 14:00:33 smbd[2121]: No builtin nor plugin backend for ipasam found This is because the IPA updates are not part of the security updates and then the IPA plugin for samba is out of sync. Updating fully to SL 7.8 resolved the issue for me. -- Orion Poplawski Manager of NWRA Technical Systems 720-772-5637 NWRA, Boulder/CoRA Office FAX: 303-415-9702 3380 Mitchell Lane [email protected] Boulder, CO 80301 https://www.nwra.com/
