I don't have that much experience, but I know if the past, the nvidia chipsets were a pain in the rear. Because nvidia wanted you to download all their proprietary drivers. As long as you don't mind doing that, then it's ok. From what I heard, the most irritating driver to download was the network driver. Kinda hard to download that. You'd figure they'd want to get at least the network driver into the kernel.
