yum updating of SL4.1 broken

Last nights' update of out 4.1 boxes broke with the following error...
--> Running transaction check
--> Processing Dependency: audit >= 1.0.12 for package: gdm
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Missing Dependency: audit >= 1.0.12 is needed by package gdm

It appears that some things like the audit rpm have been moved to the 
obsolete
directory with no current version being placed in errata.
