Does totem-mozplugin work viewing mpeg files for anyone? I ask 'cos we have started getting complaints about the new firefox behaviour of trying to run totem (embedded in the browser) to view things like mpegs.

It basically fails saying that the format isn't supported and indeed running totem itself on a couple of random .mpg files it also fails.

Now these files are old enough formats that mpeg_play from years ago will play them - no weird/whacky codecs needed as far as I know.

Am I missing some optional support packages to make totem (etc) understand mpeg files or is this not possible.

Personally I dislike having browser-plugins for random formats because it then makes it difficult for users to launch any other viewer if the plugin stuff fails so I'll probably remove the totem-mozplugin package anyway, but then firefox still defaults to offering totem as the viewer - at least people can then override that!
