Scientific Linux 308 - won't see the disks.
I highly recommend moving up to at least SL4. Drivers for SL 3 just arn't there. When SL 309 comes out, that will be the last SL3 release, and so no more driver updates for the installer after that.

Although it was no small miracle when it happened, a driver for the PERC5 was added to TUVEL3 last year, in time for the hardware release. I don't remember the exact update, but this controller works quite well with SL 3.0.8.

But I agree that using SL5 or at least SL4 would be much better, if it's possible.
