Evince doesn't display dvi files

Good day everybody.
Evince pops up a "Unhandled MIME-type >>application/x-dvi<<" error message  
when i try to open a dvi file with it.
Xdvi works fine, but evince is so much more comfortable. Does anyone know  
how to fix this (on SL 5.2)?
