I have uploaded a new version of the 5.2 DVD to

ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/52/iso/x86_64

README.dvd

SL-52-100608-x86_64-DVD.iso
SL-52-100608-x86_64-DVD-extrarpms-security-contrib-srpms.iso
SL-52-100608-x86_64-DVD.SHA1SUM

I updated the README.dvd to reflect this change.

Only things changed is the use of the SL-52-100608-x86_64-DVD-extrarpms-security-contrib-srpms.iso image if one requests rpms that are actually on this dvd. Before it did not request this image. It also contains the latest fastbugs and security errata on the 2nd dvd image. These are not available during the install.

They are a 2nd iso image. All of the rpms does not fit on 1 DVD.

SL-52-062708-x86_64-DVD.iso
SL-52-062708-x86_64-DVD-security-contrib-srpms.iso

The above 2 iso images contain everything.

Somehow I saw the second iso image and mentally translated it as "the iso

containing security-related contributed SRPM's"... So if one boots from
the
SL-52-062708-x86_64-DVD.iso to do an installation, how do you get around
the
system-config-boot-0.2.13-1.el5.x86_64.rpm not being on the DVD? We
typically unpack the images to an NFS server, copy the boot kernel/initrd
to
our tftp server and PXE boot followed by an NFS installation. In this
particular case, it was a machine being installed by a new system
administrator. I had him boot from the DVD using "linux askmethod" and
install from the NFS server, just curious what the alternatives would be.
