BTW we also have (not *too* ancient) Maxima sl5 packages (built with clisp
from DAG) if anyone prefers that over REDUCE.

Version: 5.16.3
Release: 4.el5
Size : 15 M

Summary: Symbolic Computation Program
Description:
Maxima is a full symbolic computation program. It is full featured
doing symbolic manipulation of polynomials, matrices, rational
functions, integration, Todd-coxeter, graphing, bigfloats. It has a
symbolic debugger source level debugger for maxima code. Maxima is
based on the original Macsyma developed at MIT in the 1970's.

         http://maxima.sourceforge.net/

I tend to avoid the epel repo because it's packages (in the past at least) have tended to pull in a variety of other stuff which isn't *quite* compatible with what we have/want...

BTW Maxima 5.17.0 was released in December, not that I've had a reason to upgrade yet...
