Dear Colleagues,

I've installed a PCI audio device, installed the firmware, and got audio out of the Headphones port. The Echo Layla 3G, to be used for research purposes, has 8 output (additional) channels and 8 input channels. Do any of you have info on how to select each of those other ports via ALSA (using a .asoundrc file)? The alsamixer, however, displays "PulseAudio" as the Card device, and nothing else.

Currently, I don't have an .asoundrc file nor a /etc/alsa/alsa.conf file.

And I'm puzzled by Pulseaudio, should I remove it?

Your help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,
What version of linux is this?
  cat /etc/redhat-release

That will help determine what version of alsa is running and where the Pulseaudio is comming from.
