Hold off on this. I misunderstood.
The kernel modules are actually the crucial part, and it's going to take
me a little while to get all those kernel modules built.

Hello,
There is a security update for openafs.

We have backported the security patch to 1.4.7, which we are using on
both SL4 and SL5. It has passed out initial tests but we would like to
put it out so anyone can test it.
This version works with the current openafs kernel-modules so you don't
have to worry about updating or changing the kernel modules.
To test or update
SL4
-------
yum --enablerepo=sl-testing update openafs\*
or you can download rpm's by hand at
http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/i386/RPMS/openafs/
http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/x86_64/RPMS/openafs/
SL5
-------
yum --enablerepo=sl-testing update openafs\*
or you can download rpm's by hand at
http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/5rolling/testing/i386/openafs/
http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/5rolling/testing/x86_64/openafs/
