Hello, Could anyone help me with the following question: one of the latest security updates has dbus-* packages: dbus-1.1.2-12.el5.i386.rpm dbus-glib-0.73-8.el5.i386.rpm dbus-libs-1.1.2-12.el5.i386.rpm dbus-x11-1.1.2-12.el5.i386.rpm dbus-devel-1.1.2-12.el5.i386.rpm dbus-glib-devel-0.73-8.el5.i386.rpm dbus-python-0.70-7.el5.i386.rpm
dbus-python package has the same version, the same size and build time as in the initial SL52 distro. [t...@build i386]# LANG=C ls -l SL/dbus-python-0.70-7.el5.i386.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 164982 Apr 14 2007 SL/dbus-python-0.70-7.el5.i386.rpm [t...@build i386]# LANG=C ls -l updates/security/dbus-python-0.70-7.el5.i386.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 164982 Mar 26 18:04 updates/security/dbus-python-0.70-7.el5.i386.rpm [t...@build i386]# LANG=C rpm -qip SL/dbus-python-0.70-7.el5.i386.rpm warning: SL/dbus-python-0.70-7.el5.i386.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 82fd17b2 Name : dbus-python Relocations: (not relocatable) Version : 0.70 Vendor: Scientific Linux Release : 7.el5 Build Date: Sat Mar 24 06:03:59 2007 Install Date: (not installed) Build Host: norob.fnal.gov Group : System Environment/Libraries Source RPM: dbus-python-0.70-7.el5.src.rpm Size : 612763 License: AFL/GPL Signature : DSA/SHA1, Sat Apr 14 02:13:01 2007, Key ID da6ad00882fd17b2 URL : http://www.freedesktop.org/software/dbus/ Summary : D-Bus Python Bindings Description : D-Bus python bindings for use with python programs. [t...@build i386]# LANG=C rpm -qip updates/security/dbus-python-0.70-7.el5.i386.rpm warning: updates/security/dbus-python-0.70-7.el5.i386.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 82fd17b2 Name : dbus-python Relocations: (not relocatable) Version : 0.70 Vendor: Scientific Linux Release : 7.el5 Build Date: Sat Mar 24 06:03:59 2007 Install Date: (not installed) Build Host: norob.fnal.gov Group : System Environment/Libraries Source RPM: dbus-python-0.70-7.el5.src.rpm Size : 612763 License: AFL/GPL Signature : DSA/SHA1, Sat Apr 14 02:13:01 2007, Key ID da6ad00882fd17b2 URL : http://www.freedesktop.org/software/dbus/ Summary : D-Bus Python Bindings Description : D-Bus python bindings for use with python programs. So the question is - why the same package placed in the security updates? Or it should be rebuilded with new dbus-* packages? I'm not linux guru, I just want to understand =) Thank you. -- Best regards, Soms N. L. _______________________
