Hi,
When I am having problems scp'ing from one machine to another, I first try just doing ssh from the one machine to the other.
Does this work?

Also, what is the error, without the -v? Or is it just blank?

Hello

I have two scientific linux machines.
One with SL 4.7 and another with 5.x

I try to copy with scp from SL5.x on S:L 4.7

the command is:
scp file u...@machine:/home/felix

And the error is:
debug1: Sending command: scp -v -t /home/felix/

Starting nmap 3.70 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2009-06-25 12:06 EEST [fe...@cn-wn31 ~]$ debug1: client_input_channel_req: channel 0 rtype exit-status reply 0
debug1: channel 0: free: client-session, nchannels 1
debug1: fd 0 clearing O_NONBLOCK
debug1: fd 1 clearing O_NONBLOCK
debug1: Transferred: stdin 0, stdout 0, stderr 0 bytes in 1.5 seconds
debug1: Bytes per second: stdin 0.0, stdout 0.0, stderr 0.0
debug1: Exit status 0

The problem is that nothing will be copied.

The copying process from the SL4.7 on the SL 5.x is functioning perfectly

Could you please give me a direction to look?
Thank you
Felix
