of apr-devel not updating?
None of my 32-bit SL52 machines have the problem, and all of them have
gcc version 4.1.2-42.el5 installed.

Looking into this.
I see now that my sl 50 test systems did not have apr-devel install,
just apr, so this got missed when I tested it.
