Hi David,

as you can see below such the kernel "xen.gz-2.6.18-128.1.1.el5" has been installed last year (2009). Below you see grub.conf and date Oct 1 2009. I can get it only from www.scientificlinux.org.

===================
[root ~]# cat /etc/grub.conf
# grub.conf generated by anaconda
#
# Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file
# NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. This means that
# all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg.
#          root (hd1,0)
#          kernel /vmlinuz-version ro root=/dev/md5
#          initrd /initrd-version.img
#boot=/dev/md1
default=0
timeout=5
splashimage=(hd1,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz

Best wishes,

Andrey

xen.gz-2.6.18-128.1.1.el5 doesn't really sound like a xen or non-xen
legitimate kernel that SL should ship.
David
