Hi, guys, I usually ignore this stuff, but this time I happen to know that kernel 2.6.18-238.el5 has an important update to the driver for the Marvell 8-port SATA card. The driver in previous kernels did not work (produced random disk hangs). Luckily not too many machines are affected - we only have 2 at TRIUMF - and they will be easy to update to SL5.6 to get this driver fix. (they run the -223 test kernel right now). So I am happy with Troy's policy. -- Konstantin Olchanski Data Acquisition Systems: The Bytes Must Flow!
