I assume, from the above error message, that a Compaq 610 does not
have a 32-bit processor that is PAE capable.
If that is the case, there is no problem with SL 6. It is just that
your system is too old -- sorry. :-/
Your BIOS may have a setting to enable PAE or "Physical Address
Extensions". Every processor since the Pentium Pro supports PAE, with
the exception of some Pentium-M based cores.
