Scientific Linux and SNORT

I am installing Snort 2.9.0.3 rpm and Barnyard2-1.9.tar.gz on Scientific
Linux and I can’t Barnyard2 to startup. I can’t find barnyard2.sysconfig on
the system, could that be my problem?
