/dev/cciss/c... is an HP RAID controller volume.

I've had luck using the hpacucli-8.50-6.0.noarch.rpm (on SL5) or
hpacucli-8.70-8.0.noarch.rpm (on SL6) packages from HP to monitor my
HP RAID arrays; this will also show you the configuration.
