If the thread for Akemi was NOT hijacked and merely changed the subject line, but mine is hijacked when I did the same, can anyone explain why?
It has with how your email client deals with residual headers. Check the email message source and you'll see things like (from this particular message):
References: <caba31dqqboespfyedn4dp8pvs_fcstahinecxg5r-ucb88x...@mail.gmail.com> In-reply-to: <caba31dqqboespfyedn4dp8pvs_fcstahinecxg5r-ucb88x...@mail.gmail.com>
and... because this isn't stripped or renewed, yes, your message changes the subject line, but not what the mailing list server considers to constitute the actual thread.
I made this mistake with Evolution a few days ago and deeply embarrassed myself, so I found out the fun way.
If the thread for Akemi was hijacked, are the complainers going to post a complaint? I am not being a "troll", "ogre", "balrog", "orc" or any other mythical character -- but trying to understand the technical mechanics of posting in a change of topic based upon related email to SL.
Complainers will always complain. Its just what they do. Tech help vampires will continue to suck the lifeblood out of communities as well. Its just what they do. Just gotta put up with some things sometimes and ignore others.
