This Fedora Wiki page (that I believe has been referenced already in this list) http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Docs/CustomKernel is totally appropriate for SL as well. +my notes: 1. I had to use --without kabichk 2. kernel-header RPM can not be installed (rpm -i) due to conflict with files in /usr. May be it can be upgraded (rpm -U), but didn't try cheers Artem
