Yasha,

I can verify that this is an issue with the Elitebook 2530p as well.  This 
seems to be a BIOS issue (since the issue spans multiple distributions), 
and is not limited to CDs.  For example, a USB image created with dd will 
result in the same lockup, but a FAT32 formatted device imaged with 
UNetbootin will work fine.  Just pure speculation at this point, but 
perhaps this is a security measure?  The workaround, as you have pointed 
out, is the CD tray trick, or using UNetbootin to create a bootable USB 
device.
