SL 6 current, X86-64.
As an ordinary user, the orange "badge" appears in the upper Gnome WM
bar. When I now attempt to install the updates using the GUI
application that is activated through the badge (an application titled
Software Update), the application displays that authentication is
required. At this point, the Authenticate GUI appears
Authentication is required to update packages
I click Authenticate, I never get prompted for the root password, and
the installer hangs, requiring a manual exit. Previously, this method
worked both for EL 5 and EL 6, both IA-32 and X86-64.
Are others experiencing this? What is misconfigured?
