As noted in the RH bugzilla entry, this appears to be a SL build issue, not an upstream bug. A straight rebuild of SL's SRPM with no changes fixes the problem. Most likely there was a problem with the build environment used to produce the SL binary RPM. I would recommend that this be addressed with some urgency.
