You are supposed to remove "rhgb" and "quiet" from the kernel command line in
grub. Then your problem goes away.
(Ubuntu& co are one step in front of everybody on this - their boot screen is
completely blank
from GRUB to X11 login. If the same people built cars, there would be no
speedometer,
no fuel guage and no radio volume turn-knob).
...and the road would soon be absolutely overrun with them and factories
wouldn't be able to keep up.
In some aspects humanity is so depressing.
