We are using star (1.5.11 is in the SL6 repo) for years with our LTO3 and LTO5 changers. And yes, mt and mtx are still used for changing tapes and initializing the tape drive. For doing backups with 6.X I recommend a recent kernel (they needed "a few months" to incorporate a small kernel fix into mainstream - please see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=716593 ) Gerhard Schneider -- Gerhard Schneider Institute of Lightweight Design and e-Mail: [email protected] Structural Biomechanics (E317) Tel.: +43 664 60 588 3171 Vienna University of Technology / Austria Fax: +43 1 58801 31799 A-1040 Wien, Gusshausstrasse 27-29 http://www.ilsb.tuwien.ac.at/~gs/
