Bob,
There are many people on this list who are more knowledgeable than me, but one place you
could look is /etc/exports on the NFS server. From the man page: "Each file system
in this table has a list of options and an access control list". The access control
list can allow read-write, read-only etc access to an exported file system.
'man 5 exports' will tell you more than I can.
Cheers,
Jon

How did you mount it?
did you try:
>ntfs-3g /dev/xyz /new/mount/point?
another way is in your /etc/fstab:
/dev/xyz /new/mount/point ntfs-3g rw 0 0

I guess I did not give enough information, the servers are SL6 boxes
on my LAN. The Fedora-18 computer has no trouble with them but this
SL6 box does, so I assume /etc/exports is ok, it should not have
changed ...
Thanks,
Bob
