The boot splash may still display 6.3 after an update to 6.4. It is built
automatically when a kernel is installed. To resolve that, simply run yum
reinstall kernel.

To upgrade to 6.4, try this:
yum --releasever=6.4 update
There are other ways to upgrade to 6.4, but I find the above command
works for me. If you have nvidia video card, then don't forget to
resolve that.

6.3, yet /etc/redhat-release is still 6.3
I did run yum clean beforehand.
