I did the usual trick of yum clean metadata / yum clean all and it made no
difference.
I uncommented the mirrorlist in /etc/yum.repos.d/sl.repo and tried again. It
goes through all of them....here are some highlights...

It went through the whole list and failed on them all.
The only way to get yum to work is to disable the sl-security repo. I take
it there is a problem with primary.sqlite.bz2 for this repo ?
If not...how can I fix this problem ?

I just ran 'yum clean all; yum makecache' on my SL 6.4 x86_64 box with no
issues:

Do you have a proxy server between you and the internet? How about
/var/cache/yum/ is there a bunch of space there?
