TV tuner fails with 3.10.22-1.el6.elrepoNONPAE.i686; was OK with earlier builds

Hi:  I've just lost a fight with the elrepo bugtracker's verification 
procedures, and I can't see where this problem fits into the kernel.org 
scheme, so I'll try here.

I'm in the UK.  I use the elrepo kernel to get support for my USB TV 
tuner, which dmesg identifies as PCTV nanoStick T2 290e (card=78).

MythTV backend reports, for the new kernel,

DVBChan[1](/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0): Opening DVB frontend device failed.
                        eno: No such file or directory (2)

dmesg | grep em28 reports for 3.10.21-1

usbcore: registered new interface driver em28xx
DVB: registering new adapter (em28174 #0)
em28174 #0: Successfully loaded em28xx-dvb
Em28xx: Initialized (Em28xx dvb Extension) extension

while for 3.10.22-1 I see

usbcore: registered new interface driver em28xx
Em28xx: Initialized (Em28xx dvb Extension) extension

Any help appreciated.
