I think I heard the Maquis as a group were exterminated, not pardoned. so they'd still be up for violation of the Prime Directive (which covers interfering not just with less advanced cultures, but other sovereign powers), treason, murder, who knows how many others. Again, given their service on Voyager, i bet Starfleet Command would have allowed them all to resign from the service without jail time.
In the alternate future detailed at Voyager's end show--and can I add, again, that I *hated* Berman's overuse of time travel for all the series?!--Harry was a starship captain. I believe in one alternate future--can't remember if it's the same as the series' end, but think it was--Harry was about to leave for a three- or four-year deep space mission. He was telling some little kid that after all the yeas on Voyager, it wasn't really a big deal to him. I seem to remember that Tom and b'elanna had retired from Starfleet, but their daughter was in the Service. I will acknowledge that I'm one of those people who loves backstory, prequels and sequels. I love "The Silmarillion" because it gives so much interesting detail. I seem to be one of the few people who enjoyed the ending of "The Return of the King", though most felt it was too many endings crammed together. Whenever I watched eps of the original Trek as a child, I'd always say "I wonder what Kirk and Spock" would talk about after the crisis is over?" -------------- Original message -------------- From: Astromancer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> If I understood it correctly, The Maquis were either exterminated during the Dominian Wars or exhonorated after it...However, I would love to see what happened to the rest of the crew, i.e. Seven and the borg children brought back from the Delta quadrant...A good way Nemesis could have ended would be to have Harry Kim or Tom Paris end up as the new first officer...Even better, Tuvok... [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I guess so, the same way Kirk and Picard ultimately realized being Captain was the thing for them. Although, in the possible future Q showed us in "All Good Things..." Picard had become an admiral before leaving Starfleet. Janeway got promoted to an admiral quickly, but I guess seven years of keeping the Voyager crew together warrants any promotion she wanted Speaking of Voyager, I always did hate the way Voyager ended. I wanted to see followup when the crew returned. Anyone read any official books on it? Did Chakotay and the other Maquis have to stand trial, their years of service on Voyager notwithstanding? I could see them all avoiding prison, but being kicked out of Starfleet. After all, they did violate the Prime Directive and kill who knows how many Cardassians. And I've loved to see how Seven manages on a world crowded with illogical humans, after decades of safe group think as a Borg, and then the relatively safe confines of Voyager. -------------- Original message -------------- From: Martin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sisko would *never* cope with being flag-rank. Besides from what I've got from the book he's still a important player in the DS9 universe. So he can be anywhere the Star Trek francise needs him to be. -GTW [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] "There is no reason Good can't triumph over Evil, if only angels will get organized along the lines of the Mafia." -Kurt Vonnegut, "A Man Without A Country" --------------------------------- Never Miss an Email Stay connected with Yahoo!
