Actually, "Spirited Away" is considered his masterpiece. It's regarded by critics and most animation lovers--especially Japanese--as the better of the two. It made about eighty million more worldwide than "Princess Mononoke", and is generally described as more magical, mythical, and wondrous. Spirited Away actually outgrossed "Titanic" in Japan, and that movie did very well there.
both are great films. I think Mononoke was the first of his films to use computer animation, the first to be given a major treatment and release here in the States. Great film, I love 'em both. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kelwyn" <ravena...@yahoo.com> To: scifinoir2@yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, December 18, 2009 12:38:47 AM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: [scifinoir2] Re: Tv: Howl's moving castle Princess Mononoke (1997) is regarded as his masterpiece. My personal favorite is Spirited Away (2001). Some of his earlier work includes Kiki's Delivery Service (1989) and Castle in the Sky (1986). ~rave! --- In scifinoir2@yahoogroups.com , "angelababycat" <asrobin...@...> wrote: > > I stumbled across the movie earlier this fall and loved the animation too. > What else has he done? > > Angela > > --- In scifinoir2@yahoogroups.com , "Kelwyn" <ravenadal@> wrote: > > > > Love Hayao Miyazaki's animation.
