I think its time to start a petition to stop the shaky camera technique.

Tonight I went to the mall with a few friends to check out Clash of the
Titans. I was promptly reminded why I hate watching movies in the theater vs
the large screen and privacy at home. Behind me someone's kid was
chitchatting through half of the movie, and the guy next to me decided he
needed to try to have a phone call over the deafening THX sound.

That was just the atmosphere. During the movie in several key scenes the
camera was moved on its axis left to right to the point that it was blurry.
Good thing the version of the movie that we were watching was not in 3d! I
probably would have tossed my lunch! It was ridiculous! Years of playing
video games and I still couldn't keep up with what was going on the screen.
This has to stop. Its just a silly, lazy practice by hack directors.

Can we start the petition?

The movie:

The movie had even less depth than the original movie. They didn't explain
the relationship between Zeus and Hades and why he was banished to the
underworld. Nor why mankind was upset with the gods, except that the gods
treated them wrong. They didn't explain what a titan was or who zeus fought
to gain power.

The effects were ok in 2d, but you really could tell that somethings were
purposely done to wow the audience in 3d. Wow may be too strong of a word
here.

Overall it is typical matinee fair. Watch it for the action if you can
stomach the shaking camera.

1st draft of the petition:

We are tired of trying to follow mediocre fight scenes that have been hyped
up by unimaginative directors by simply shaking or wiggling the camera! This
practice must stop now!
