Agreed on all points. They also dropped the ball on several good ideas by making it the Sylar show. The supersoldiers and Daddy Petrelli all had good villain potential but got gobbled up or dropped completely to establish other big bads or to make Sylar a bigger threat.
I still say killing Adam Monroe was a mistake. His immortality and hatred of Hiro could have lead to some interesting storylines.
