Some of them have musical numbers in the middle of the movies. (J-Pop (Japanese Pop movies) does the same thing. ) But not all of their movies have musical numbers, or they write it so that blends into the plot. For example, the main character might go to a performance, or work for a movie company and the musical number is buried there.
They have been slowly developing a noir style in Bollywood that has a lot of potential. They just approved their first actual Adult or Mature rated movie (That would be similar to what are R rating is) this year so it will take them some time. Bollywood has had a lot of flops recently so expect a shakeup and some new directors coming in. I expect some big things from them in the next few years.
