Secondly, we've a wide variety of open issues, feature requests, and enhancement proposals. You can look through them at https://github.com/scikit-image/scikit-image/issues, and select one in accordance with your expertise in Python and image processing. For the beggining, I'd recommend to start with GitHub issues marked with `difficulty: novice` or `type: documentation` tag. This should help you to get better acquainted with the contribution proccess, as well as with `scikit-image` codebase.
