Hi all, Gael and I have been trying to contact companies to sponsor the NIPS 2011 sprint in Granada (mainly funding the travel expenses).
https://github.com/scikit-learn/Tmp-Scikit-learn/blob/master/sprint_nips_2011/proposal.rst We got some positive feedback however it's a bit tricky to find the right legal structure to collect the funds. I thought the Software Freedom Conservancy non profit might be the right way to do so: http://sfconservancy.org/ They offer many services among with the ability to accept donations to fund sprints: http://sfconservancy.org/members/services/ PyPy, git and many other projects are using it for that purpose. SciPy might join too (see the thread on the scipy mailing list). If nobody objects I will do the submission for scikit-learn. Unfortunately the next application deadline is in February, hence far too late for this winter sprint. We will have to find something else for this sprint but it would be great to have dedicated structure for future sprints. -- Olivier http://twitter.com/ogrisel - http://github.com/ogrisel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable. Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes sense of it. IT sense. And common sense. http://p.sf.net/sfu/splunk-d2dcopy2 _______________________________________________ Scikit-learn-general mailing list Scikit-learn-general@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/scikit-learn-general
