I fixed that in f997740. If you see other of such cases of missing reference documentation to generally useful functions, or missing see-alsos, feel free :) Also, when looking at the grid_search.py code, I realized that it might be worth working a but on making the API (and the name) of the internal function fit_grid_point a bit more explicite and user friendly. It could perfectly fill in the role of the helper function that I was mentioning earlier.
