Hi,
He is running numpy 1.6.2. I have found out that numpy guys are renewing
their error management system so that they have generic error messages
(that is why googling the error message doesn't give any clue...). You can
see one of these patches here :

We can see that, in fact, the RuntimeError is now a ValueError. I have
checked and this happened with the 1.6.2 release of numpy (I have the 1.6.1
version on my computer and the test is fine).
