Hi Fredrik, Given that OPTICS is a fairly standard clustering algorithm that can be made efficient on large datasets, I do believe that it would be interesting to have an implementation. Of course, the usual caveat apply: we need high-quality, efficient, tested and well-documented code. It will take time as the review process is long, and the core developers tend to be overwelmed (and on top of that, some of them take a month-long leave to go hiking[1]). But I would be very enthousiastic at the prospect of a good OPTICS implementation. Be sure to read the contributors guide.
