The metacademy project seems very interesting but I feel that it is
not yet mature enough to be considered a de-facto reference to link
to.

In particular I think there are major concepts still missing. For
instance for the AdaBoost entry you mention, one might have expected
to have links to related concepts such as Boosting, Gradient Boosting
and Ensemble learning in general. However those entries do not exist
(yet). There is an entry for "boosting as optimization" [1] but it
does not give the big picture on boosting as a sub family of the
family of ensemble learning algorithm. In this respect I find the
wikipedia article [2] a better starting point to learn about the
relationships between those concept even though it is not as
structured as a the average metacademy entry.
