Hello everybody. I am interested in contribution to scikit-learn project during GSOC 2014. My name is Mikalai Parafeniuk. I am a final year CS student from Belarus. I am particularly interested in project which suggests adding scipy.sparse matrix support to Decision Tree Implementation. Unfortunately I learned about program timeline recently, so I contact so late. Could anyone advice materials, readings for the project topic? Also I'd like to submit some patches to project to make sure that I feel comfortable with codebase and to ensure possible mentors that I have enough skills to apply. Can anyone suggest some issues on Github for beginner on related topics?
Short info about myself relating to project. My primary language is Java but I use Python and C++ widely for data analysis and algorithmic tasks. I think that Python provides amazing environment for data analysis and machine learning (I have used NumPy+scikit-learn+ipython-notebook), thats why I'd like to become a member of your community. I worked with sparse matrices during GSOC 2012 in Apache Hama project. I have 3 years of experience in industrial programming, feel comfortable with math, had a year of machine learning course. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Learn Graph Databases - Download FREE O'Reilly Book "Graph Databases" is the definitive new guide to graph databases and their applications.
