Congratulations!

I like scikit-image, but the difference between scikit.image and
scipy.ndimage sometimes confuses me...

Mahotas is a showcase in how C++ should be written. It is C++ written with
such beauty and elegance that it's almost a piece of art. C++ has a higher
threshold, yes, but very few C++ coders can write C++ with the code quality
we see in Mahotas. So it has a double barrier for contributiors. Not that I
disapprove of well-written C++ :-)

With Cython and Numba improving, there is really no reason to use C++ for a
Python image processing toolkit today.
