We decided against this in the case of k-NN, where the suggestion (I
don't remember by whom) was to alllow >2d for custom distance metrics.

David, I see your package is at 0.1, so I guess your API is not 100%
stable yet; would it be possible to change it and encode the actual
shape of the data somewhere else? For example:
MKSRegressionModel(continuousBasis, feature_shape=(x, y, z))
?
