Hi, This is to let you know that I've opened https://github.com/scikit-learn/enhancement_proposals/pull/94 and it's up for discussion. If there are no major objections, we can merge the PR soon and call for a vote.
The change is only a convenience method added to BaseEstimator, with no backward or third party compatibility issues, and doesn't break any existing code. Best, Adrin
