Very nice, even in the low sizes.

The pngs are just models to be later converted to xpm.

Same for me.

I do the
conversion with The Gimp, but usually require further tweaking of the
resulting xpms.

NB: I use XnView to convert to XPM.
I haven't thought of The Gimp, althought I started to use for some Web graphics and like it, once I get used to some strange workflow.

The xpms are not limited to 16 colors as Philippe commented. I don't not
if it's a technical issue but I can try to convert them to 16 colors if
needed.

Sorry if I made think of such limitation. 16 colors is just a self-imposed limitation, as it is mostly enough for most graphics. My BlueGem used 64 chars/colors. It is probably close of the limit, since we are limited to 1 character per pixel, and perhaps we shouldn't use high Ascii chars (char code problem?). It may work, though.

If the shapes and colors are disgusting for anyone, I can change them as
well.

:-)

The set of png icons are made 16x16, 32x32 and 48x48 sizes, but just
converted the 16x16 ones to xpm. I'll convert all of them if you find
them usable for scintilla.

Here is a page showing Scintilla in PythonWin along with two more
recent applications, Visual Studio 2005 and NetBeans. I think
Scintilla is starting to look crude compared to these.

I tried to mimic - to some extent - those icons. Of course they're
different but I tried similar shapes.

Of course, we could just crop from these screen captures... But that would be less fun...
