Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Chris Severance (severach) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: SCI_GETLINE with textLen=0 is undefined Initial Comment: It's not clear what SCI_GETLINE does when Wparam:textLen is 0. It seems to return the entire line with a terminating \0. When I call SCI_GETLINE(0,buf) on a blank line in MS-DOS mode, I get buf="\r\n\0". When I call from a larger line the program crashes before I can see what is returned. My safe buffers have 2 slack characters so it's returning more than 2 extra. The help text needs to be clear that textLen is the actual buffer size into which will fit text+\0. The help text needs to be clear what textLen=0 does. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=102439&aid=1324041&group_id=2439 _______________________________________________ Scintilla-interest mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.lyra.org/mailman/listinfo/scintilla-interest
