Ship your executables with the version of Scintilla you tested with. You should never depend on a DLL that just happens to be available. > Going through the versioninfo resource stored in the dll requires > a bit of code, and not very portable. It is the standard mechanism on Windows. Adding more copies of this information means they are less likely to be consistent and it is additional work for me when producing releases. The only chance of this going in is if there is a script (probably an addition to src/LexGen.py) that updated all copies of the version number.
